TESOL UKTerms & Policy

General Information

TESOL UK is developed by UKeU® with support, coordination, and resources provided by SIMI Swiss.

  • UKeU® is an online information portal used to promote online study programmes offered by Academic Partners and University Partners. UKeU® is not a legal entity, organisation, or educational institution; it functions solely as a promotional platform for marketing purposes. UKeU® does not deliver any training programmes, award qualifications, or participate in academic assessment or evaluation.
  • Swiss Information and Management Institute (SIMI Swiss) is not a local educational institution but an international higher education institute delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes under the standard of a “Swiss Truly International™ higher education institute”, offering integrated qualifications that combine the excellence of the Swiss private degree system with qualifications recognised by the UK Government.
Learning Model

With coordination and resource provision from SIMI Swiss – the leading international higher education institute of Switzerland operating under the Off-Campus model (a combination of live broadcast classes and local academic support systems), SIMI Swiss delivers its training programmes as follows:

  • For international students in countries without a SIMI Swiss campus or local support partner: learners study 100% through live broadcast classes (Live Class) delivered entirely by SIMI Swiss lecturers.
  • For students in countries with a local support partner: learners study through live broadcast classes (Live Class) combined with local tutorial sessions and academic support activities.
  • For students studying at SIMI Swiss campuses located in various countries: training follows the traditional face-to-face model.

“Local support partner does not interfere in the training and all activities of local support partner is of an academic support only. Local support partner has no authority over course results or graduation decisions. Only SIMI Swiss and its Partner Universities (for joint-degree programmes) hold academic and graduation decision-making responsibilities.”

Who Can Study with TESOL UK?

Students of TESOL UK are individuals who meet the competency and entry requirements specified for each programme as published by TESOL UK and may apply directly to TESOL UK.

We fully support eligible applicants registering for TESOL UK programmes without discrimination based on race, religion, or region.

Applicants registering with TESOL UK must comply with all regulations and guidelines stated in the student handbook and publicly available information, and must provide accurate entry information. If an applicant or student violates the principle of honesty, TESOL UK reserves the right to refuse admission, revoke student status, and invalidate any academic results obtained. In such cases, no reimbursement will be made, and the violator will be required to compensate for any damages caused by their fraudulent actions.

Published Information and Training Objectives

TESOL UK regularly updates programme and faculty information to maintain accountability and ensure compatibility with market needs and relevant governing regulations. The content published on the website, in printed materials, and across media channels is accurate at the time of release and may be subject to change without prior notice.

Programme objectives and structures may evolve during a learner’s study period, while still ensuring alignment with the intended learning outcomes and assessment criteria of independent accrediting bodies. If adjustments are made, TESOL UK will notify learners of any updates, new programmes, or revised learning pathways. In cases where economic, political, or force majeure factors affect delivery, the training methods may be adapted accordingly. In such cases, the institution will inform and discuss with learners to adjust the study model and academic plan appropriately.

Third-party learning materials are those purchased, licensed, or used under copyright by TESOL UK. Some course materials are developed by TESOL UK lecturers. Although all resources are reviewed and approved by the TESOL UK Academic Council, certain content may not be fully applicable to some international learners (as material relevant in one country may differ in another). If such content causes significant impact, TESOL UK will promptly update the training materials. However, TESOL UK shall not be held liable for the consequences of such content beyond the classroom context.

Learners and related parties may use academic materials solely for personal study and research purposes, and are strictly prohibited from reproducing or redistributing them in any form, whether for commercial or non-commercial purposes. Copyright-related details are further outlined in the “Copyright” section.

Credit

Credits represent the recognition of learning volume and time invested in mastering a subject area. TESOL UK applies the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). Due to its collaboration with the UK education system, some TESOL UK programmes also adopt the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) credit system of the United Kingdom.

Credit recognition is an internal process conducted by the TESOL UK Academic Council. TESOL UK and its partners do not guarantee that credits recognised by TESOL UK will be accepted by other universities or external entities beyond TESOL UK’s credit recognition authority.

If you intend to transfer TESOL UK credits to another educational system or university, please consult in advance with the receiving institution. TESOL UK will provide support within its capacity but will not intervene in the admission or credit transfer procedures of other universities. Again, TESOL UK makes no commitment regarding whether such credits will or will not be recognised externally.

The concept of “credits” varies across different education systems, particularly in terms of training duration and credit-structure models. Learners should take these differences into consideration if planning to transfer TESOL UK credits and/or learning outcomes to other education systems.

Recognition of Learning and Qualifications

After completing all learning components and fulfilling obligations including academic discipline and integrity, learners will have their learning officially recognised and will be awarded a Private Degree from TESOL UK. In cases of dual-degree or collaborative programmes, learners may also receive additional awards or confirmations from partner institutions.

Each country, institution, and region has different regulations regarding the recognition of learning and qualifications. According to international practice, the recognition or acceptance of qualifications is a subjective decision of the receiving authority or government, or it may depend on regional policies within each country. TESOL UK strongly advises applicants to verify the recognition and acceptance of TESOL UK qualifications before enrolment. As stated above, TESOL UK (including its partners, university partners, and academic collaborators) makes no guarantee, promise, or commitment to support such recognition processes. TESOL UK reserves this disclaimer before, during, and after learners’ graduation.

Safety, Information Security and GDPR

TESOL UK makes every effort to protect personal information and strictly complies with all regulations on safety and information security, as well as applying the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union (EU).

TESOL UK does not collect learner or partner information for purposes other than programme delivery, training processes, and quality improvement. TESOL UK only discloses information to third parties beyond these purposes when ordered or requested by competent authorities.

In the event of an information breach caused by unauthorised access, TESOL UK will coordinate with authorities and relevant parties to address the issue. TESOL UK disclaims liability for security breaches or unauthorised intrusions beyond its control.

Fairness and Academic Freedom

TESOL UK adheres to fairness in all aspects of learner admission, assessment, evaluation, and the allocation of scholarships, funding, and budgets for learners and stakeholders, without discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, race, religion, or beliefs.

As a higher education and postgraduate training institute, the structure and flexibility of TESOL UK programmes allow learners the freedom to choose their specialisation, design their own development pathway, and easily change to another field of study if they wish to do so.

TESOL UK complies with human rights regulations, including the protection and support of individuals’ academic freedom. TESOL UK cooperates with relevant authorities and consulates (in the case of international learners) whenever a learner’s right to academic freedom is found to be affected.

Copyright Policy

TESOL UK respects the intellectual property rights of content providers, lecturers, learners, and other third parties. Learners and users of our academic systems are also required to respect intellectual property rights.

When studying or collaborating with TESOL UK, learners and stakeholders must comply with both formal and customary international copyright regulations, regardless of whether such agreements have been formally signed.

All information published by TESOL UK and its partners—including learning materials, documents, forms, minutes, and any other content, whether official or unofficial, internal or public—remains the copyright of TESOL UK. Learners, partners, and related parties are strictly prohibited from copying, using, or reproducing this content for purposes beyond personal study and research. Any intentional duplication for commercial or non-commercial use beyond the stated copyright agreement constitutes a copyright infringement against TESOL UK.

TESOL UK considers copyright infringement a serious offence. TESOL UK reserves the right to terminate a learner’s status, cancel academic results, revoke qualifications, and disable online accounts if a copyright violation is detected, even after the completion of studies.

In cases where a learner or third party causes damage (including actual, potential, or implied loss) due to copyright infringement, TESOL UK will fully cooperate in the investigation process but bears no material or financial liability, and is exempt from responsibility for any infringements that occur beyond its control.
